SRD Stat Symbol Legend

Values in the stat frontmatter are stored verbatim from the source, including
the following symbols. Use this key when rendering stat strips.

Encumbrance (* and #)

  • * (asterisk) — The item has no significant encumbrance. Dozens can be
    carried without hindrance.
  • # (hashmark) — The item is packable. Three such objects can be packed
    together as a single encumbrance item (for ammunition, one loaded magazine
    counts as one item). Breaking open the package to reach the contents takes a
    Main Action.

Weapon damage / reload (#, @)

  • # (hashmark) on a damage value marks a weapon that can fire in burst
    mode
    : it fires three rounds of ammunition for a +2 bonus to hit and damage
    against the target. (On heavy/mech weapons # marks the ability to fire to
    suppress.)
  • @ marks a weapon that requires two Main Actions to reload.

Starship parts (* and # scale with hull size)

  • * on a fitting’s/defense’s cost: multiply the credit cost by 10 for
    frigate-class hulls, 25 for cruisers, and 100 for capital-class hulls.
  • # on power or mass: multiply that cost by 2 for frigates, 3
    for cruisers, and 4 for capital hulls.

Mech parts (* and # scale with mech size)

  • # on a power/mass requirement: multiply by 2 for light mechs and
    4 for heavy mechs.
  • * on a cost: multiply all base costs by 3 for light mechs and 6
    for heavy mechs.

Faction asset note codes

  • P — Requires planetary governmental permission to raise or transport the asset.
  • A — The asset can perform a special action.
  • S — The asset has a special feature or cost.
